We headed south for the second half of our trip to visit Grandma and Grandpa Roberts. We saw 2 HOT nights of Phish at Deer Creek and had a great time with old friends. We spent a lot of time at the pool, and Grandma Roberts threw an awesome early birthday party for Liam, where he got to play with lots of second cousins, and open presents of course!

My sister, Stephanie, got to ring the NYSE opening bell on Monday because of her involvement in an MTV program called, Movers and Changers.  The short of it is that her and some other students developed a disposable umbilical cord cutter for use in developing nations.  Movers and Changers is a yearly contest for students to enter their products/service ideas related to making a difference in the world.  Because of her product getting selected as a finalist she gets to be part of a couple TV episodes and also got to “ring the bell” at the NYSE.  My description doesn’t really do it justice, ask her or see the website for more details.

Check it out:

Jess and I went to New Orleans last weekend for my sister's graduation from Tulane university.  It's the first time both of us have been there since Katrina and it was interesting to see how much things have progressed.  The graduation was in the Superdome and we stayed in the French Quarter just a few streets off of Bourbon.  The trip was fun, although preggers was on the sidelines and couldn't earn any beads :(

James Carville and his wife were the speakers at the graduation which was very interesting, but slowed down once they started to announce all of the names one by one for several hours.  We used the time to help us think of baby names, but it didn't help too much.  Here are some of our pictures, you can see them all on our flickr page.
